A New Chapter Built on More Than 25 Years of Performing Arts
Since 1999, we have been creating opportunities for people of all ages to learn, perform and grow.
Starting in Lossiemouth as Lossie Entertainment Academy, we have expanded across Moray and the North East of Scotland, supporting children, young people and adults through performing arts, education and community projects.
Now based at Elgin EA Studios & Performing Arts College, we continue to build on our journey with the same belief at our core: everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, create and perform.
From Lossiemouth to Elgin
LossieEA has been part of the Moray performing arts community for more than two decades, growing from a local academy into an organisation supporting performers of different ages, abilities and ambitions.
Over the years, our work has expanded to include dance, musical theatre, music, performance technique, fitness and Acrobatic Arts, alongside education, employability, schools, community projects and professional productions.
Our move into Elgin represents the natural next step. Elgin EA Studios & Performing Arts College will become our principal centre, providing a new home from which we can continue creating opportunities for performers, students and the wider community.
Lossiemouth will always remain an important part of our story, and we are retaining LossieEA Studio 1, with plans for classes to return there in 2027/28.
Excellence, Empathy & Opportunity
At the heart of Elgin EA is a deep-rooted commitment to excellence and empathy.
We believe high standards and supportive teaching should go hand in hand. Our aim is to challenge every performer to develop their abilities while creating an environment where people feel encouraged, respected and able to grow in confidence.
For some, Elgin EA is a place to enjoy a weekly class, make friends and discover a love of performing. For others, it is the beginning of a journey towards further education or a professional career within the creative industries.
Our Performing Arts College provides focused training for students who want to take that next step. The Academy has previously been recognised by the Scottish Qualifications Authority, which described its work as:
“Demonstrating an exceptionally high body of work that meets and, on many occasions, surpasses the SQA requirements.”
A Proud History of Performance
Throughout our history, we have had the opportunity to work alongside talented performers, creatives and industry professionals.
One particularly memorable chapter came in 2014, when the late Hollywood producer and television personality David Gest joined co-owners Diane Aspinall and Tish Tindall to develop a musical centred around Robert Burns.
David Gest said:
“I’m really proud of Tish and Diane for their enthusiasm, for their stamina and take-charge attitude to making this happen. That’s something that I love in people – I love people that are do-ers.”
Patron Harriet Thorpe also praised the Academy’s commitment to preparing young performers with the knowledge, skills and understanding required to build sustainable careers within the creative industries.
These experiences form an important part of our history, but so do the thousands of everyday achievements that have taken place along the way — first classes, first performances, qualifications, new friendships, growing confidence and students discovering where their talents can take them.
The Next Chapter Starts in Elgin
Our history has shaped who we are, but our focus is firmly on the future.
The transformation of 9 North Guildry Street will give Elgin EA a new principal home in the heart of Elgin and provide a platform for the next stage of our development.
As the new studios take shape, we will be sharing the journey through Building Elgin EA, documenting the transformation from the early renovation stages through to opening the doors.
